In late 80s me and my brother and I owned Toyota cars. Like every other car owner we wanted to find a good auto place that was reliable and and would do quality work. We were very lucky to find Alvin. He was very experienced, knowledgable about Toyota and as I recall, had recently opened his shop after working several years for a Toyota dealership. He also was very friendly and seemed to be an honest man. About 30 years later and owning at least 6 or 7 Toyotas in our family over this period and also referring Alvin to several of our friends, we all still have high respect for his work and trust him 100% every time we need to take our cars to him. I also need to mention Tony, Alvin's son whom is working along side his dad and in the past couple of years has been helping us with our car troubles. Tony is also very knowledgable and very friendly as well as being professional. We have always been very happy with the work he has provided. We highly recommend Alvin's Auto Center -- Willow Glen!!!

Brought my 95 toy. 4runner V6 (167,000 miles) for cold start problem and poor idling. Alvin and his son, Tony did an excellent job diagnosing and fixing the problem. They will repaired and replaced parts that were ONLY necessary. Their labor cost was very reasonable in my book (compared to Toyota). They did a thorough and clean job in my opinion. These guys are just plain good and honest at what they do period! I would rather drive a little further to bring my cars here for any repairs from now on. I highly recommended "Alvin's Auto Center -- Willow Glen". I just wish I found them 5 years earlier... Use to bring my truck to toyota and other shops in Fremont... which leaves some sour taste at times.

I was booked in at the tire place next door (Auto Innovations) to have all my tires replaced & noticed Alvin's next door. A quick look at the online reviews told me that these guys are frequently very well reviewed so I booked in an oil change & also had a small problem with my car that needed to be investigated as well. Firstly, the service was excellent, very welcoming & relaxing. I am wary of over charging for parts & labor & my total cost for the few things I had completed was in line with what I would have anticipated. I also really appreciate it when they take the time to discuss your car & any issues with you & also provide you with good information so that you don't leave feeling that you have unanswered questions or are unhappy about something. I have only recently moved to San Jose & will make Alvin's my regular for future car needs. These guys do practically everything except for tires which is offered by Auto Innovations next door & those guys did an awesome job as well.

I've been a customer of Alvin's Auto Center -- Willow Glen for the past 3 years. They are always prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. I've had oil changes and general maintenance that gives me confidence that my car will continue to run smoothly and safely for years to come - very important to me as I'm the type that holds on to my car for as long as possible. Their entire staff is friendly and competent, but I have always appreciated Tony explaining to me what is going on with my car and providing options to me of what work I want done to address each issue. I'm sad I'm moving back to LA and having to find my new home base for car work! Thanks for taking care of me and my baby the past few years!!

Alvin's auto shop was a very good experience. I did not get any actual auto work done on my car but I will in the future and here's why. Took my car in because I heard some humming noise and thought my wheelbearings might have been bad. From the initial phone call to the moment I walked in the customer service and demeanor was excellent very friendly very welcoming. My car was then diagnosed and found out it was my tires that were probably the issue. They took the time to explain to me why it and it all made sense. No charge. It's not only the fact there was no charge, but more the whole experience was very friendly, welcoming, and efficient...and then later to find out they were not going to charge me for their time and expertise. I will be back with any car problems in the future and I will be glad to spend my money here.

Been here several times and had a good experience. First time was when my mom's car wouldn't start on a cold winter, had to have the car towed there and Tony said he would check it out. Turns out the car was fine, and i wasn't charged. Great customer service and you've earned my business with your honesty. Came again recently for a 60k service on another car. Brought the car in the morning, dropped it off, and it was done after several hours. Tony and Alvin were detailed on what needed to be fixed, and let me know the prices before starting. I also liked how they were honest and said some parts didn't need to be replaced. They could of easily just replaced everything and I wouldn't know the difference since i'm not a car expert. Overall, Tony and Alvin run a good business, reasonable prices, fast, honest, and reliable. Will definitely bring back my car here.

I would say this is by far the friendliest and awesome Auto Shop out there. The service is great and they do their best to try and get your car in and out. All parts they use are OEM. They are honest and have nothing to hide.

So I thought I would start off my story with the other mechanic I brought my car to. My breaks were squeaking so I went to Aamco. They resurfaced my rotors and replaced my breaks for a reasonable price. The problem was that I noticed the breaks started making some noise when I came to a complete stop. I brought it back in, and they told me that it wasn't a brake problem. They said I needed a new control arm assembly which would run around $1,400. Something didn't seem right, and I wanted to get a second opinion. I settled on Alvin's auto repair based on the reviews this shop received. Tony was actually the guy who helped me. They checked out the control arm assembly and found nothing wrong. They did ask me about the last time I got my brakes changed because whoever did them used cheap brake pads. He said it was safe to drive and suggested that I don't replace them as long as the noise didn't bother me. He didn't even charge me for the inspection. The next time my brakes need changing I am definitely coming here.
